Remaining 2026 weekends available: Early April, October 31 and November. Mid-week options available at reduced rates. Photoshoots always free! :)
We'll send you a contract to review and sign. We require a 50% deposit of the total amount (event space + bathroom rental) to hold the date after signing and then 50% 30 days before the event. Any additional rentals from Black Walnut Estate can be paid for 30 days prior to the event.
You can have vendors and the party arrive as early as needed for your setup. The bridal prep room and caterers staging area can be open as early as 6am.
We ask that music be kept to a reasonable level starting at 9pm and then off by 10pm. We follow county rules on sound levels and do a property line check with a decibel meter regularly. Cleanup and post-wedding mingling can continue past that time as long as the noise level is minimal.
Yes, a $500 deposit is required 30 days before the wedding. This will cover any major damage that may happen. If the space is good condition this will be returned entirely within 7 days of the event.
We work to accommodate most vendors that you may want to bring. Our only requirement is that that dance floor be rented from a specific vendor and/or the dance floor that you rent is the same design in order to reduce damage to the lawn. We can assist with this either way.
We require event insurance for all weddings. After doing some research on various providers and their cost we would recommend that you check out Event Helper as they seem to have the best rates.
The chance of rain in Sacramento is very low beginning mid-April and through the end of October, but it can still happen. We've been fortunate to only have one wedding affected so far (morning rain, afternoon was great), but this is the advice we would offer depending on the scenario:
Light rain the day(s) before
The grass was dry the next day as long as the sun is out. You can also put tarps down over the reception and ceremony area to ensure the ground is completely dry.
Heavy rain the day before
The ground will be soggy the next day. The space is usable, but people's shoes can get a little muddy. Putting tarps on the grass ahead of the rain would be a great idea to minimize the impact.
Light rain day of the wedding
We would recommend tents. You can do one large party tent or smaller, longer tents that could fit between the rows of bistro lights. Our recommended wedding vendors can share a few solutions.
Heavy rain day of the wedding
The tents would be the way to go. If you're considering moving the date, then we offer a change of date with no penalty or additional cost in these cases. As long as the date is available, you can move the event up or back by a day or to an entirely different weekend.
Absolutely. The space is well situated for events such as fundraising dinners, team gatherings, and even more exclusive musical events. We'll give you a custom quote based on your needs.
